Taterbug 30 Ultra Marathon and Relay

Taterbug Hill

This year will be the 4th running of the Taterbug 30 Ultramarathon. It may be only 30 miles, but it will be run along some of the most challenging terrain in the state. Rolling hills, wooded areas, and creeks will greet you from the road along a scenic course that winds throughout Switzerland County, Indiana.

Named for the famous Taterbug Hill—the highest point in the county—this race will provide every competitor with a challenge. It is a great distance for the first-time Ultramarathoner, or for an organized team of up to 6 members that will run shorter distances. Each team member will run 5-mile legs.

Indian Creek

The Taterbug 30 Ultramarathon will be run through some of the most scenic areas of Southeastern Indiana.  Much of the course will follow historic Indian Creek, later extending to the top of Taterbug Hill—the highest point in Switzerland County.  It will be challenging terrain with many rolling hills, only adding to one’s sense of accomplishment when crossing over the finish line.

The surrounding town of Vevay is truly a gem.  The county seat of Switzerland County, Vevay was recently voted the #4 “America’s Coolest Small Town” by the Budget Travel Magazine Reader’s Poll during the CBS Early Show.  

Nearby Belterra CasinoResort and Spa provides gaming action, shopping, dining, and quality entertainment for post-race fun. You may also find a massage at their spa facilities quite therapeutic either before or after the race.
