We will not be holding this years race. There are many reasons, but lack of registrations by the early date is the largest. Looking at the numbers it did not make sense for us to continue the event this year. In addition, volunteer numbers were dwindling and my commitment to holding this event could not be what it was in the past.
I do not enjoy making this decision, and I hope that everyone understand that this race has always been about having a good time. It was something I did out of my enjoyment of running and the fun the participants had during their experience while with us.
I hope to hand off many of the responsibilities and marketing next year to others, and I hope that the Taterbug 3o will continue next year!!!
Everyone will who had registered this year will receive a full refund by check in the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions, please let me know by using the contact form on this page. I will do my best to contact you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding.
The Taterbug 30 Ultramarathon will be run through some of the most scenic areas of Southeastern Indiana. Much of the course will follow historic Indian Creek, later extending to the top of
Taterbug Hill—the highest point in Switzerland County. It will be challenging terrain with many rolling hills, only adding to one’s sense of accomplishment when crossing over the finish
The surrounding town of Vevay is truly a gem. The county seat of Switzerland County, Vevay was recently voted the #4 “America’s Coolest Small Town” by the Budget Travel Magazine Reader’s Poll during the CBS Early Show.
Nearby Belterra CasinoResort and Spa provides gaming action, shopping, dining, and
quality entertainment for post-race fun. You may also find a massage at their spa facilities quite therapeutic either before or after the race.
We welcome you to join us for the fifth edition of the Taterbug 30 Ultramarathon, and invite you to experience the mix of small town beauty, history, and hospitality in which Switzerland County has become known for.
